How we farm:

At Adalyn Farm we love our children, animals and earth.  We feel blessed that God has allowed us to grow healthy food for ourselves and our community.  To whom much is given, much is expected, so we will do our best to honor God by stewarding our soil, water, air and the lives that have been entrusted to us.  We will grow the highest quality fruits, vegetables and animals that we possibly can.  For our fruit and vegetable production we will only use God-given, nature-provided  pest and disease control and soil amendments.  The seeds we use are organically certified or saved from our own production.  For our animals we provide organically certified feed or food from other organically certified farms  We avoid medication if at all possible and pursue holistic, organic and herbal remedies before turning to “western” medicines.  This does not mean we allow our animals to suffer, but instead we make decisions on an individual basis as to the best course of action for that particular animal’s health and comfort.  If any animal does receive non-organically certified medications, we will alert the consumer of that fact.  In summary, we farm in a way that would be recognizable to our great-grandparents and the many generations of farmers that came before them, while also incorporating the beneficial technologies of today (ex. cloud computing, smart phones, and software to track the health and growth of our animals.)  We also share our farming life through social media in an effort to be as transparent as possible, because we believe that by knowing your farmer, you can know your food.
