I’m speaking of pride here. Our garden this year is very utilitarian (read weedy but full of food). I have never had much luck with brassicas, until last year and the MASSIVE cabbage… This year we skipped the cabbages (they went mostly uneaten, and so slipped off the ‘to grow’ list) and put in some broccoli starts. Next year I am going to start my own, and simply hope for heads half this big…

yep, i am jealous! we had a few decent heads, and lots of nice little side shoots though!
I suppose total volume is probably more important than individual head size… It’s this time of year I always wish the garden was bigger… Much bigger.
Oh, nice, that looks great! Kirk got frustrated w/ brassicas last year, the plants got huge and vigorous, but only developed tiny heads. I assume maybe our planting timing was bad- when did you put your starts into the ground?

Ooh. I think it wasn’t till late May, and they were starts from Rent’s Due Ranch.
